The state-owned BSNL will offer high speeds of upto 2 mbps broadband connectivity to its existing subscribers who were till now getting the connection at 256 kbps, announced the communication and IT minister Dayanidhi Maran at India Telecom 2006. BSNL would offer high-speed internet broadband at the existing price. "It is now for the private operators to match it or beat it."

256 Kbps -> 600mb per night...
2 Mbps = 256*8 Kbps -> 600*8 = 4800mb per night.. that comes to one dvd a night.. This really is a piece of good news... :)
